Can you go on a cruise while pregnant in 2026?
Usually yes, if the cruise ends before the line's pregnancy cutoff and the pregnancy is not high-risk. Most lines use a version of the 24-week rule, but the exact wording differs by brand.
How many weeks pregnant can you be on a cruise?
The common answer is before week 24. Some lines say you must not enter the 24th week at any time, some say not more than 23 weeks, and others calculate by the last cruise day.
Can you cruise at or after 24 weeks pregnant with a doctor's note?
Do not count on it. Official policies from lines such as Disney and Carnival make clear that a medical letter does not override the cutoff.
How old does a baby have to be to go on a cruise?
For many cruise lines, babies must be at least 6 months old on embarkation day. Longer, remote, trans-ocean, or multi-sea-day sailings often require 12 months.
Can newborns go on cruises?
Usually no. Most major ocean cruise lines require at least 6 months, and several long itineraries require 12 months or more.
Can you take a 6 month old on a cruise?
Often yes on shorter mainstream sailings, but not always. Check whether the itinerary has trans-ocean routing, remote ports, or three or more consecutive sea days.
Which cruise lines are adult-only?
Viking and Virgin Voyages are adult-only. Oceania also moved to an 18+ policy for new reservations beginning January 7, 2026, with limited honoring of existing under-18 bookings.
What changed for MSC infant rules?
MSC's current U.S. booking terms say cruises of 11 nights or more require every passenger to be at least 2 years old at embarkation. Older summaries that say 12 months for long MSC sailings are stale.
